Re: Japanese Teaware Vendor Recommendations
The order from Sazen arrived today. They're my second big purchase from Japan, with the previous order from Hibiki-An being the only one prior. Both companies shipped tremendously fast and both impressed me with their packing. Sazen even used some special kind of tape on the outside of the box. Both...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello there! I'm Servania pretty long standing seal translator and cataloguer on various outlets. Reddit (owner of r/YixingSeals) , facebook, my own website and various published resources. Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Also while we're talking Oolong, I feel like I should mention one of my favorite tea discoveries in a while. What-Cha's Thai "Sticky Rice" Jin Xuan Oolong, flavored not by actual sticky rice, but by a plant called Semnostachya Menglaensis, or Nuo Mi Xiang. So sometimes there's a dish or a drink that...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
Bitaco Tea Estate Afternoon, from the only tea plantation in the country of Colombia. 5 grams per 130 mL with water at 200 gave infusions (starting at 60 seconds) that were beautifully well-balanced with notes of ripe peach, honeysuckle, and cedar. Tannins were relatively silky, with just a touch of...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
I'm not sure where TH gets their pots It's been know for some time that they are from Taobao... What are the indicators of quality that I should be looking for? Where should I look for the ones you mentioned? Thanks in advance for the input. This is one of them: https://www.instagram.com/yujian_cai...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
I was originally planning on doing the Chaozhou style https://pathofcha.com/blogs/all-about-tea/chaozhou-gong-fu-cha#:~:text=Chaozhou%20gong%20fu%20is%20a,require%20as%20many%20tea%20utensils. outlined on Path of Cha until I saw that it called for 1 gram of tea per 10 mL, which I didn't want to do ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Yes had a similar experience with teahabitat's da hong pao. Relatively strong roast upfront, with some floral and vegetal/medicinal bitterness as steeps progress. Very Glad you had a decent example of yancha as your first experience. These are expensive teas- and a lot of them are absolutely horrib...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Tea Habitat's Jin Mu Dan Yancha. I got an ounce of it for free with a teapot a while back and decided to give it a shot tonight in said teapot. I've brewed a few teas in it before to get a feel for it, so tonight seemed like the best time for the good stuff. 8g tea for a 140mL Chaozhou pot, 20 secon...

Re: Yunnan Craft
Thanks for weighing in teatray . Trust me, if there were an option to get to the payment screen without registering, I would have found it. I opened that email no less than a dozen times. The options were to sign in or create an account, there wasn't a "continue to payment" button unless it was in w...

Re: Yunnan Craft
That's fair and I understand aet . I'm mostly bummed about the order not working out and I wish we could have found a solution. Hopefully sometime in the future. I respect the integrity of the goods on your site and your desire to keep shipping costs separate (though in my admittedly American view i...

Re: Yunnan Craft
Gotta say from my point of view, whoever needs to pay, needs to figure out how to do so... unless I have special insight. PP can be a pain to use also from a vendors side, not sure how things would stand if there'd be an argument over faulty goods when it involves a payment without account? Also co...

Re: Yunnan Craft
I've gotta say, this is one of the most disappointing tea purchases that I've made. I was looking forward to doing a side by side comparison of Yunnan Sourcing and Yunnan Craft orders, even down to their value teas. Instead, I have one completed, shipped Yunnan Sourcing order on the way and one canc...
