Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

I don't think the issue here is "are TdJ's prices too high" but rather the whole exchange rate trick where you effectively have two different menus on the table and the answer to the arbitrary question "where are you located?" determines what prices you are charged. Personally, I think some of thei...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

I emailed them as well, and got the same answer. I explained the situation, that I was not paying in USD/EUR, and asked if they could not revert it, and if not could they adjust their exchange rate. They just ignored the questions and mentioned a "technical reason", I still did not understand if it ...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

That's disappointing... I'm not sure it's worth speculating the why they've done it. But a technical reason is definitely not a valid reason, especially since they run a custom, very outdated website. We were all trying to pay in their home currency, I'm also not living in a country that uses USD/EU...

Re: Do you believe clay-specific heat retention contributes to brew quality?

Your experiment is neglecting a few things.

1. More water take longer to cooldown
2. Shape and volume of clay to heat
3. The temperature of the water after being filled (some of the heat was absorb by the clay to reach maximum temperature)

Re: A visit to Wistaria Paris

Yes! Right after Wistaria! Sadly I could not sit in to have tea because it was in the area where strikes were happening. But I bought some tea, a shuixian and a roasted tie guan yin (Taiwanese). I still stayed nearly an hour. They showed me some of their new harvest greens, a line of porcelain teapo...

Re: A visit to Wistaria Paris

Interesting, I was not aware of their Puerh history, I just knew they had a few popular cakes. I remember seeing Qing Teng and a quite old puerh on the menu. And a big box of loose qing teng was lying around. I know a few people who bought a cake as well. I should have asked. They were pretty open t...

A visit to Wistaria Paris

Hello everyone, I recently visited Wistaria in Paris, the branch famous teahouse in Taiwan. I thought I might as well share my experience for the people interested. Their teahouse is at Rive Gauche in Paris, easily accessible. After a short walk from the closest underground station, you arrive at th...

Re: Do you sweeten your tea and with what?

I'm interested in your opinion, what do you use to sweeten the tea and why? Is it true that I shouldn't sweeten my tea? Do what you want. But please note that if you get truly high quality, loose leaf tea - adding anything might be akin to adding coca cola to fine wine (which is apparently a common...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone, I'm happy to be here. How long have you been drinking tea? 4-5 years now. What kind of tea do you drink? Taiwanese and Wuyi Oolongs mainly, but I do enjoy and try to appreciate everything How do you prepare your tea? Usually in a gaiwan or teapot, gongfu-ish. Or in a thermos if it's ...
