Re: Yixing

The rear handle jiazini gezuis from the early 60s are very beautiful, the design is by Gu Jingzhou and the spout shape is very elegant. I saw you mentioned this clay a few times. Do you mean 甲紫泥 or 紫茄泥 ? (And how do they differ by the way). I've also been confused about the mentions of different ty...

60s 12 cup hongni is on my list. I haven’t encountered a source to get the 12 cups yet but yeah it will cost a leg :(
Are you prepared to spend in the neighborhood of $1-2k? Because that's the price range...
And at that pt, lqer zhuni is not far off, but of course, to each their own.

Re: Yixing

60s and 70s F1 pots are nice because the clay is good and the session can be more relaxed. Some are also very expensive for various reasons. The rear handle jiazini gezuis from the early 60s are very beautiful, the design is by Gu Jingzhou and the spout shape is very elegant. Another expensive earl...

Re: Yixing

These names are used to refer to a specific look and feel of the finished teapot and doesn't relate to any specific ore. My first foray into pre factory antique pots. An LQER zhuni, biandeng like shape, 90ml. Now, my understanding is that not all zhuni has the famed wrinkles, are the wrinkles one t...

Re: Yixing

It's funny, after receiving, handling, and using this pot for a little bit, some of my f1 (pre 77) don't seem as elegant as they did before. Pots from before factory 1 just have a certain charm about them, a heightened level of artistry, and more elegant proportions. Some lqer or earlier pots I've ...

Re: Yixing

./download/file.php?id=5099 I love that very subtle little edge on the outside belly curve – this is the kind of beautiful detail that you won't find easily on modern Yixing! Chips on lids are really something to be expected, even at a price like this or higher. I also find it reassuring that there...

Re: Yixing

How much was it? If I may ask? I am curious as well :) I want to get an idea on how much to save for haha Zhuni from that period in good condition will be minimum 2000-4000$ I heard ZAG selling less in demand Zini Biandeng in 40ml for 2000, so... DailyTX it was 2000USD plus shipping. It has chips a...

Re: Yixing

Teachronicles nice pot! Doesn’t have to have wrinkles at all. Of all my antique Zhuni, none has wrinkles. If it has them it helps authenticate, if it doesn’t, it does not mean it’s not Zhuni :) How does the inside of that pot look? It's got some tea in it, I'll take a pic once I'm done with this se...

Re: Yixing

These names are used to refer to a specific look and feel of the finished teapot and doesn't relate to any specific ore. Ok this is what I was wondering. So some would not be considered "lao zhuni" or "lao duanni" but this is not because it is a different clay. Thank you for the detailed answer You...

Re: Yixing

Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted, I've missed a lot! I had a discussion earlier and this question came up. Are "lao zhuni" and "lao duanni" specific types of those two clays from LQER and earlier, or is any duanni or zhuni from that era considered "lao"? Was there just regular zhuni an...

Re: Yixing

Teachronicles All of their pots are 90’s or newer. Some of their pots actually look like decent replicas. I’m always hoping they’ll list a thin walled/baotai 80-90ml julunzhu but hasn’t happened yet. I brewed up some tea in the pot, and it was quite nice, so at the least its a pot that doesn't nega...

Re: Yixing

Usually, if it didn’t cost much, that is the first warning sign. This one I am pretty confident to be fake. Thank you bok, i was skeptical when it arrived, i couldn't place why. I've been asking around to see what people think. Taiwan vendor ke08008811 on eBay? It’s 110% fake Haha yep, that was the...

Re: Yixing

Hey teaforum community, wondering what everyone thinks of this pot i just got. It didn't cost much so please share what you think freely. Wondering if it's a legit old pot (LQER) or a later replica. http://imgur.com/gallery/EVgZhud Usually, if it didn’t cost much, that is the first warning sign. Th...
