Re: Help me match my pots with some tea

What kinds of tea do you drink the most? I'm not an expert, but from what I understand it's best to try different teas out with the pots and see which ones brew best in which pot. Also where did you get your pots? I added what teas i drink to the original post. Also I got the two smaller ones from ...

Re: Should I Buy This Pot?

Hey I don't know if this is bad etiquette, but didn't think this question needed a thread on its own. What's the difference between white label and green label. I'm very new to yixing btw.

Help me match my pots with some tea

I have these three yixing pots that I've yet to use and would like to hear you guys thoughts on what type of tea you think would go well with each one Edit: thank you ragamuffin I forgot to add I drink mostly oolong and puer. Aged and young sheng. Green and roasted oolongs. I'll also have a black, g...

What do you guys brew high mountain/greener oolongs in?

I'm trying to decide if I should use one of my yixing pots to brew greener oolongs in. Or if I should just stick to my porcelain gaiwan. I'm fairly new to tea so I'm not very knowledgeable in the effects of yixing other than it can improve some teas, but also can dampen the aroma so I'm not sure it'...

Re: How to brew Dan congs Western style?

FengHuang teas (so called Dancong) have an astringency to them that reminds me of a green willow twig. Some can also lean towards the bitter side. With this in in mind I would suggest that you brew it GFC style, rather than Western style. You’ll appreciate it more. For FengHuang teas, I use a lot o...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hey all, I'm pretty new to tea, been drinking loose leaf for about a year. What got me into it was an article about a bay area (where I'm located) local named David Lee Hoffman and his eccentric property in marin, where he has a huge stock of puer he's collected over the years. It's been an expensiv...

Re: How to brew Dan congs Western style?

Ok. So I have a few more questions then. Should I use boiling water? Or 200f? Do I need to do a rinse? And I generally start with 15s infusions and adjust from there. Should I go shorter to start?

How to brew Dan congs Western style?

I'm fairly new to tea and specifically Dan congs. I've heard about how they can be finicky to brew. Can you even brew them Western style? I usually do my oolongs Western style 3gs for 2-3 minutes. Can I do Dan congs like that also?

Is it ok to leave tea in my jianshui pot overnight?

How important is it to empty out my pot and rinse after brewing? I often leave the leaves in the pot overnight and finish the session the next day. Will this negatively affect my pot? I'm not too worried about mold as I leave the lid open and my house is pretty dry.

Purple beauty green tea from YS. A very interesting green tea, not much like any other green I've had. Also the soup was purple greyish which was interesting. It was delicious.

How important is organizing by smell in a pumidor?

I'm new to puer storage and am wondering how important it is to try to separate cakes in your storage based on smell. It's kind of hard to do so as I just have a medium sized cooler as my pumidor atm. But, I do keep some cakes in the paper bags they came in (w2t) with the bags left open, hoping mayb...

Did you guys ever consider a recent/new posts section? Maybe on the home page? I don't mind going through each category but I think a new/recent post section would a good addition.
look in 'quick links' in the upper left ;)
'active topics' is the one i use the most.
Thank you
