What does it mean to be a “factory 1” pot?

Re: Morning Crane Tea

Hello!

I am very curious about your program and intrigued. I placed a sample order for a recommended tea and am looking forward to trying it.

Thank you for your work making it available for me to try.

Re: Yinchen Studio

no clue what that particular clay performance is like, but i kind of like the look of it actually. get it if it makes you happy. it's not insanely expensive. I haven’t been impressed recently. The teapots are kitschy and often have dubious characteristics. LeoFox, who is that modern Yixing teapot m...

Re: Yinchen Studio

Hello!

I saw this pot advertised on my Facebook feed and am really drawn to it.

https://yinchenstudio.com/products/xian ... apot-160ml

I’d like to revive the discussion about Yinchen Studio if possible to get more educated opinions of their work/products.

What do you guys think?

Re: Tillerman Tea

Just placed an order for a few samples and 2oz. Of the Lishan high mountain. It sounds wonderful! I’m still exploring to find which teas I prefer, both suppliers and types. Looking forward to sampling your teas. :)

Re: Yixing

Baiyun , that’s a good idea. I need to get a measure in ml. As that’s what most pots will say. In other news can anyone help me better understand this new-to-me pot? When I thought both of mine were fakes, I shopped around and found this one that I thought was about the size of my Xishi pot. Boy wa...

LeoFox , ok will do! In other news can anyone help me better understand this new-to-me pot? When I thought both of mine were fakes, I shopped around and found this one that I thought was about the size of my Xishi pot. Boy was I off! It’s giant compared to my other two and it’s very heavy. Given ho...

Re: Yixing

LeoFox , I didn’t realize Dancongs were a more expensive type of tea. I just assumed it was comparable price wise to the other teas I bought there. I’m sure they are not top shelf, but also not cheap either. Now I’m curious to try expensive Dancong, lol! But, it’s going to have to wait until my bud...

Interesting! I suggest to try more than one session in each pot, and to write down some notes. Some variation from session to session can also be due to factors other than the pot, so it is useful to replicate your tests and see what findings are consistent.
Good point. I will. :)

Re: Yixing

steanze, (trying to figure out how to tag someone here) Do they lend themselves to certain teas? What do you usually like to drink? You can try a few different teas and see how they turn out. It also depends on your preference. Personally I would not use them for dancong: with dancong I prefer to u...

That’s great news and a fun way to spend the evening!

Bok’s teapot proportion looks about like mine. I might use a little less. Both of us are using small teapots though.
I will try it with my little pot tomorrow.

@Bok, that’s a beautiful picture.

Re: FS: Qing/ROC ChangJi 昌記 Zhuni

I think I like the pot more with the repaired lid than the before pictures. It’s more……interesting.

Can I ask, what is the history? I’m very new to pots and relatively new to tea. I’d love to understand better why this beauty fetches the price it does.

Re: How I got started with Dan Cong

I’d try shorter infusions. Ditch the timer completely and focus on getting consistent color/flavor with each steep. This becomes intuitive in short order. You don’t think about how you walk: put left leg out 18 inches and then fall forward and catch self with right leg that has moved out 18 inches....
