yes you are right! that's funny coincidence, they also look similar clay wise and shape wise. In the end the one I purchased one year ago ended up performing quite good imo and I'm still using it happily... but that's certainly not a good indicator of its intrinsic quality as an yixing pot. Nonethel...

Re: looking for any info on the quality/authenticity of this pot. Thanks a lot!!
thanks everyone for your response! as always I'm grateful to find so much support in this community. About the teapot: actually the vendor sold it as a modern item and not an antique one. The vendor isn't an yixing focused one, is a generic antique vendor, and he surely didn't clean the pot prior to...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
i have some interesting updates: after asking in a Facebook group, the mark was successfully read: 清香美月 [Qing Xiang Mei Yue] 'Pure Fragrance Beautiful Moon'a also the user who identified the mark found some pots with the same mark on internet: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=690014964821&ali_tra...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
+1 to all the comments shared above. Reddit is probably the worst place to ask for an opinion on Yixing/Tea, facebook can be better IF you find the right group to ask... Some have huge followership with many "experts" who are sadly only experts in how to overestimate what they know. Anyways... use ...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
thanks a lot for your observations! why would you say it is mass produced? what are the signs? just so I know for personal knowledge... anyway, at least now I know it is yixing clay and that I can use it without worrying too much. thank again for the help!! You are welcome! We tend not to share ver...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
This is modern Yixing. It should be safe to use. I don’t see anything concerning about it. I think modern zhuni is underrated. While different from vintage zhuni, it is at least consistent and somewhat neutral. Ignore the seal entirely. thank you very much for your help! the majority of people I qu...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
what do you think? is it a real Yixing/chaozhou? can you recognise the maker? It looks like a Yixing pot made after 2000. It is on the lower end of usable pots, but buying on auction that means that you did fairly well as most pots on those auctions aren't usable. I can't recognize the maker, but i...

Re: Various yixing experts have contrasting opinions about this teapot
Not a chaozhou. Modern yixing, imo. Quality of clay can be often hard to judge from photos... I agree with this. Not a chaozhou based on the clay and how it has been constructed. It looks like the type of denser hongni blend often advertised as zhuni in modern pots. I would be surprised if anyone c...
