Re: The Porcelain Thread
I'm looking for a plain jane porcelain pot, 6-8 oz that won't dribble. Can anyone point me to vendors and maybe suggest what shapes are the least likely to drip?

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic
GailC I am sipping on a very smooth buttery viscous oolong which I didn’t realize until now is also a milk oolong. Jinxuan cultivar with soft notes of fern and almond. Very good example of what a milk oolong can be without adulteration. It’s from Té Company, called Graceful Hill . They have a few m...

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic
Suggestions where to find good milk oolong? Being new to tea, I'm not sure who to trust.

Puer lao cha tou for trade
I have a 450 gram unoped bag of puer tea nuggets I'd like to trade for milk oolong. I like this puer but I have another bag open and I'm finding I like the oolong a little more. US only please I suppose I can open the bag and trade 225 grams if someone wants a smaller amount. I ordered from here htt...

Re: Teach me to brew oolong
That's what most of us mean when we refer to ball shape. The good news is that it is real jin xuan based upon the vein pattern I see, but a lot depends upon processing. The absence of wrinkles can indicate that it was steeped too long, too little leaf was used, or this is the end of a very long ses...

Re: Teach me to brew oolong
GailC, how may grams of tea did you use? How many ml is the teapot? I’d expect to see more wrinkles on the leaves and the edges less torn. Was this in balls or pellets? 3-4 grams, 250 ml pot. I guess they would be balls, not really sure what the difference is. I checked the leaves closer, the tears...

Re: Teach me to brew oolong
don't know much about it besides its from Alishan High Mountain in Taiwan. I've asked the harvest year Where was the tea purchased? Who sold it? (It could have been bought at a tea-growing spot but grown elsewhere.) Additionally, “milk oolong” is often faked with a light application of non-dairy cr...

Re: Opinion on this pot?
Modern pot, wondering about opinions on this clay? With all the fakes, I'm worried about getting something that isn't safe. Also, how well do these short spouts pour? If it is safe, only a scientific scan could tell... Pictures look heavily edited, so colour is probably not the actual one. Short sp...

Re: Teapot from Wish
IME this works well for some stuff, particularly serving several guests, but you will run into a problem if you want to prepare 100ml-200ml for yourself, esp. tea that requires high temps. Unless I'm misjudging the size, if the water reaches the infuser at all, the leaves will be restricted to a sm...

Don't laugh, I was desperate and it was really cheap.

Re: The Porcelain Thread
It ended up being garage. It dribbles everywhere, from the spout and the lid.
Seems its just a bad design. Its cute though and looks good in the cabinet.
I have a glass pot on the way, maybe it will be better

Re: Teach me to brew oolong
Lots of good advice above. One thing I would add…because it took me a long time to figure this out…is that you can sometimes rescue an infusion that goes too long, and gets too strong by diluting it. Pouring it into a larger cup or tea bowl and adding more water can rescue an overly strong/concentr...

Re: Teach me to brew oolong
Astringency does not only depend on the brewing but also on the tea material itself… so kind of difficult to advise without knowing the exact same tea. Milky oolong if it’s good quality shouldn’t be astringent. In general, high heat and then you need to adjust the steeping time parameters to your l...
