Yixing clay cup effect

As the title says, does drinking from a Yixing cup have much of a noticeable effect on softening, I brew in Yixing clay, Jianshui, or Duanniusually and notice a sizeable effect mainly on young sheng puer teas, do the cups also have the same effect or is it a bit of a gimmick? Wondering if anyone her...

Re: Japanese Goishi-Cha

This is the great thing about tea, there’s so many options out there and I’m always learning, in my comparatively scarce tea experience (compared to other members here) of about 5 years it’s always a treat to learn something new I had no idea about.

Re: What is the sweetest tea you have tried?

I’m definitely open to keeping my options open, I do not mind very slight astringency but as far as I have noticed I seem to be very sensitive to astringency and it seems to be not a profile I enjoy much. Perhaps smoother teas are my choice. I tried cooked puer and can’t say I was a fan, it was very...

Any suggestions on good, mainly Chinese sweeter teas?

I love Saemidori senchas but tryin to see what Chinese options are out there on the tea front.

Re: Any good Aussie websites/vendors?

Ok so, a bit of an update, I purchased a 2016 golden bud ripe puer. My thoughts are as follows: I really cannot judge the quality as of yet, this tea I am definitely not a fan of, the taste is very earthy, wooden flavour which really is not for me, I don’t mind roasted tones but this one is very int...

Re: The Porcelain Thread

I’d probably use it to steep tea, not a large volume so could make some good brews, if I add a bit more leafs in for a higher ratio to water.

More an ornamental piece tbh

Re: The Porcelain Thread

Found this porcelain tea set at an op shop for 25 dollars. Not China but seems to be a Malaysian tea set, marked as tenmoku pottery. I love the leaf design of it and squared shape of the pot, like I mentioned for 25 dollars I couldn’t pass it up.

Re: Any good Aussie websites/vendors?

So, I’ve decided to try samples from both sites, I will post an update when they come in the mail, still trying to determine what types of teas I’m into as of yet but excited to try many different options.

Re: Any good Aussie websites/vendors?

Not an Aussie but Kuura is a White2Tea style vendor down there. Mainly fresh puer. Would like to try them myself if they weren't so far away.. :D Fun fact: Kuura means morning frost in Finnish. I’m giving them a go, they have tiny samplers so I’ll see how I fare with their puer teas. I did happen a...

Any good Aussie websites/vendors?

As the title suggests, I am in Australia, and most of the websites I’ve found are based overseas and don’t really want to pay the exorbitant shipping prices. (Sometimes 50 usd) So, does anyone have suggestions for good quality Australian based sites or perhaps any sites that have low shipping costs ...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi all,
Been into tea all my life but not specifically into the intricacies of tea, mainly used to drink herbal and teabag teas. Looking forward to experiencing more and more into the world of teas. Still trying to experiment to see what’s out there.
