Re: What Green Are You Drinking

SENCHA FROM KAWANE, SHIMONAGAO, KIRARI 31

Very delightful sencha. I had a bad bad gui feng oolong in the morning and I was not in the mood for another oolong type and this one hit the spot.

Very interesting, thank you for your input. As i said I don't know much of georgean teas, still learning. Are all teas grown with pesticides?

Georgean tea

Today I tried for the first time Georgean black tea. I had read an article on https://freshcup.com/georgian-tea-revival/, and it spiked my curiosity but never got to find a good direct source, till someone here mentioned Renegade tea. They had sold out all the new harvest ones but I was able to orde...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Shincha from Hon. Yamaha Tamakawa Yamakai, Thes du Japon. 2023 An amazing sencha to start my morning. The dry leaf smell, wow! The aroma completely overpowered my nose when i opened the bag. The tea itself was what Florent describes, sweet and long lasting. A top top favorite this one. P.s I forgot ...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

The water from the tap here in France is pretty clean but has too much calcium so we just filter that for the whole house so our household items work properly. For tea I use a mountain spring water Mont dore. There has been time when I've used other water and tea has been flat. Mont d'or makes my te...

Re: 2023 Shincha Harvest tea recommendations?

Nice!!

Just the other week I tried a benifuki black tea with a kobiwako teapot. that usually is a bit bitter for my taste but it was surprisingly very tame with the kobi. I read Chip's thread a while ago and thats what made me use that teapot more often. Very helpful.

Re: 2023 Shincha Harvest tea recommendations?

Finding the Uji Shincha Kirameki more challenging to get right. Thin body and slight bitterness hasn’t been tamed by Masaki Tachi shigaraki clay kyusu. Maybe this tea needs to rest. So far 6g/110ml/155f/90sec in shigaraki isn’t a match. Would kobiwako clay help with bitterness may be? A friend of m...

Re: 2023 Shincha Harvest tea recommendations?

Shincha from Mariko, Kondo Wase.

Thes du japon harvest 2023

Really good balance of green tea and flavor. Sweet sencha, very mild astringency from 3rd infusion. Sweet after 3rd 4th 5th infusion. My top favorite! Went to order some more this morning and saw that it was sold out 😔

Re: Req. assistance from tea experts (B/Tea: Darjeeling)!!

Second order from Thunderbolt. I have been enjoying his teas so much lately. Best quality out there for Darjeelings. To think that I had given up on this variety...Thanks @Victoria for introducing me to them.

Happy tea drinker today :).

Re: What Black Are You Drinking

Lishan High mountain Organic Red Oolong, lot 894 A very interesting oolong. It is very good and smooth but oh cherry, I dislike you. Long time ago I was given a box of dammann frere tea, Noel a Paris that left that artificial cherry repulse in my taste bud since, so I dislike anything cherry artifici...
