Re: Morning Crane Tea
Your post reminded me & I sneaked one in as well. Let's hope it works. What did you get? First time order for me but always wanted to try some. Actually got to drink some in a Korean restaurant in Japan recently but expect these will be much better. I'm most curious about the Mugwort, tbh :D. I got:...

Re: Green Tea
Freezer should be fine as well, as long as the packaging is suitable. Steamed raw tea (after drying, i.e. aracha) can be stored below freezing (& AFAIK often is), and it has twice the water content of usual tea.

Re: Fujian Wuyi Mountain National Nature Reserve Zhengshan Tea Industry Co.
At current rates, many of the products seem priced at the same level as in China. Some, like the JJM Classic, BenSe, and Royal chopped LS are cheaper than the tmall flagship store listings. There are exceptions (like the cheap Tea Ticket DHP being +229.7% over the tmall price). Price comparison JJM ...

Re: Green Tea
I ordered more tea than usual this time of year due to fear of the tariffs...anyways... For intermediate term storage where I want to drink some of the tea now but save some for later: would it be best to portion out the tea I want to save, put it in a vacuum sealed jar and then put it in the refri...

Re: Lapsang Souchong
Thanks, seems to match exactly the diff we're talking about. Can't see these promos when accessing through the web (w/o being able to log in). If the resulting $2.7/g is a limited time promo (& excludes int'l shipping and any agent/forwarder fees), that makes $3.1/g (incl. int'l shipping) via offici...

Re: Lapsang Souchong
I went ahead and just ordered one. $155 was inclusive of shipping, so a good deal? Will write what my impression is from a JJM newb perspective. In other off-topic notes, I got a small Hojo howl & just tried (last year's) Ali Shan which was nice without being as special as I remember it from a few y...

Re: Lapsang Souchong
Does anyone have experience using any of these for tea? Or should one dig deeper and find a way to use TB directly (create virtual phone numbers to receive texts, etc.)? This thread might be of interest. I've only used shipforwarder the last few years, and that requires than you can browse and pay ...

Re: Lapsang Souchong
I got it off the official store on taobao, which is cheaper than the international lapsang store. Taobao "penalized"* my account and doesn't let me in without completing ID verification which requires receiving a text, but their text never gets to my (European) mobile phone. Can't create a new acco...

Re: Lapsang Souchong
May I ask how you source it? The vendor seems to post here but apparently in an attempt to extract much higher prices from int'l buyers. Any good way to get their tea from a shop or package forwarder (asking from Europe)?

Re: High Quality tea in Taiwan
The question is, where to get this tea? Not something ultra-high-end (which was probably not the target category for this inspection anyway), but that which counts as high-quality locally and is sold locally, perhaps at elevated but still reasonable prices? My experience so far with non-Western-faci...

Re: Lime buildup in electric kettle
Some waters don't leave any residue. Doesn't have to be 0-30ppm (usually not great for tea), I'm currently using a 50ppm that leaves nothing behind in the kettle nor espresso machine (and tastes better than my previous lower-ppm choice that was also zero-residue). If you have to have water that caus...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Well, I bought 150 g of Alishan Organic 1, 150 g of Alishan Chang Shu Hu, 25 g of Fushoushan, and 25 g of Alishan hongcha from Tea Masters for just over $100. Buying 25 g of each of the first three teas plus shipping would have cost me over $50. Now I just need to wait for the Canada Post strike to...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
thanks for your very detailed post, even though it complicates my interest in ordering from Tea Masters. :) YW & yeah, sorry I did not have better news. Had a quick look at T-M's site and I have to say, at 20% off with the current BF deal, getting 150g Organic 1 ($36) + 150g normal ChangShuHu ($32)...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Doing well, thanks! I had another order from T-M and also another directly from a producer, here are my thoughts: from T-M 2024 Spring Qingxin Oolong Da Yu Ling 100K - weight : 75g $75,00 USD 2024 Spring Qingxin Oolong Fushou Shan - weight : 75g $73,75 USD I was still somewhat sick when I got to the...
