Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

@mrmopu

Thanks mrmopu! I haven’t unwrapped the Shou cakes yet. The ingredients for the big cakes should be a bit different from the small cake. Hope that’s will be as good as the small one. Cheers 🍵

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

DailyTX I heard that breaking the tea cake into pieces (醒茶) can fasten the waking process too. And thus I had broken few cakes into pieces and stored them into different tea jars. But to be honest, I haven't done any comparison between them so I don't know if it really works. Going back to the foru...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

yinyautong: that seems curious; was there a big difference in the nature of the storage as between the two cakes? The photos look very different in colour overall, but that can be impossible to tell accurately from online photos. Andrew Hi Andrew, Yes, I also think that they taste and their fragran...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I'm drinking 2006 Dayi 7542(605). After trying the 2006 Dayi 7542 (601) yesterday, I wanted to do a comparison between the two 2006 7542s because the one (601 batch) I drank yesterday was quite strange. It was like muted that its taste and aroma were just so weak. But this 7542 (605) is much better....

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Happy 2022 everyone! I'm drinking 2004 Va Lun Brick (2004 華聯茶磚). Va Lun is a Macau based tea company established in 1965. Their most famous Puerh product is 1997 Va Lun Brick, which cannot be easily found in the market. This 2004 raw puerh tea has a very pleasant camphor wood and smoky fragrance. Th...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Today I drank another very good Puerh raw tea named 2006 Taipei Tea Culture Expo. Ji Nian Cha (Conscientious Formula) [2006 臺北茶文化博覽會紀念茶 (認真配方)]. The cake that I broke was a 100g small cake. The cake was made by Chongtai tea factory, which is famous for making wild tea since late 1990s to early 2000s...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Andrew S Thanks for your sharing. I've always wanted to try their (Yee On, Lau Yee Fat, Sun Sing etc...) famous aged raw Puerh to see the power of ageing. I tried 80s 7542 in two tea gathering occasions and their tastes and aroma were just remarkable. Just like what you have mentioned. I bought som...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

the placebo effect of drinking something "medicinal" also helps a bit, at least mentally. I understand the placebo effect, a cup of Hong Kong milk tea always works for me whenever I have headaches in the morning. I’m trying 660g Dayi 0622 (601), which is super tasty and have a strong taste of flora...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I’m drinking the 2004 - Chang Tai Bulang with Chen’s teapot trademark (Supreme Wild Tea). Bulang Mountain, located in the southwest part of Xishuangbanna. This tea is very strong and full body in the first few infusions. Very matched with the mountain’s characteristics. https://yinyautong.wordpress....

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

You’re right , there are many fake 2011 Golden Dayi on the markets as well. I’ve seen one and took some pictures for records too. If there is no comparison, it is really hard to detect the fake one. In this case, the fineness of the printing could tell which is real and real is fake. In the first pi...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

yinyautong Wow that's fancy. I just checked at KTM it currently goes at USD 1,789 per cake  Hi .m., thanks for the reply. :D Does the Chen Pi Puerh work for the headcold ? Yes. The price of some Dayi teas are just so expensive now. As far as I know, when the Golden Dayi was released in 2011,...

E047D596-457D-4BD6-B30F-CB4422BF87BB.jpeg Merry Christmas! I’m drinking 2011 Garden Dayi. This is interesting tea. Seems contradictory, on the one hand, it is young, lively and fresh. On the other hand, it is thick, oily, soft and moisturising. Smells and tastes very fruity. Nothing like wet forres...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I find these FT productions to be a bit more enjoyable than regular versions which I also throughly enjoy. Smoother and more resinous. I read somewhere that the FT productions typically would use better materials. Not sure if this is true across the board. Anyone know? Unfortunately I don't have th...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I’m enjoying another session with the 2004 XG FT 8653 3+1 from The Jade Leaf. This has become a favorite of mine for daily drinking which is why this cake is almost gone. My ROC zini pot really brings out the pine resin notes. Hi Chadrinkincat, The 2004 XG FT 8653 3+1 is a real stuff. Very rich, af...
