Re: Yixing

Sleepy I can't beleive it was sold to you with that smell. What did ZAG say? I did not contact them about it. I did smell the pot when I got it but I did not expect the smell to put up such a fight, so didn't think it would be an issue. Other than the smell the pot is in perfect condition, as was a...

Re: Yixing

I'm currently fighting the incense smell that refuses to leave it. I'm not a fan of incense at all and the last place I want that smell is in my tea. I have done what feels like everything yet the smell persists. Sleepy I recommend you first try the baking soda / white vinegar cleanse if you haven’...

Re: Yixing

Any advise? I would go at it with a diamond file. Definitely not the best idea, but I've found this is an area where I like to take the risk. Did you end up doing anything? I did and I did get it better, but I want the holes even bigger. This is a julunzhu and I feel like something with "cannon" sp...

Re: Is the crack in this Yixing teapot acceptable?

Is the crack in this Yixing teapot acceptable? Well, if a teapot can't teapot then I would want my money back :| It's one thing to have a superficial crack and something completely different to have water leak out. Contact the seller and explain the issue, they should understand not wanting a leaky...

Re: Yixing

I actually have a Dremel and those diamond files. I wouldn't use the dremel itself, I'm sure I would destroy this pot if I tried. Thank you for the wine cork idea, that's really good. I didn't think of the dremel bits at all since those files are awkward to hold. And yeah, the other holes do seem to...

Re: Yixing

I got this pot from ZAG. I have a problem that two of the seven holes are blocked. Below image is bad quality I apologize, it's taken with my phone but it shows two of the bottom holes are blocked. The pour is poor. I don't know if I should go poking at the blocked holes or make the others larger in...

Re: Western facing F1 vendors list

Hi, I’ve read quite a bit on this forum and I know ZAG is recommended but the site is not secure. Does anyone know if it has always been that way? I have been hunting for a new pot and ZAG definitely has the most comprehensive collection I have seen (on sites I can navigate) but being non-secure ha...

Definitely legitimate, just a case of an outdated website. Remember pot collecting is in an old man's game in Asia
I’m such and old soul that calling it old man’s game makes pot collecting sound distinguished

Re: Introduce Yourself

How long have you been drinking tea? Proper tea (as in leaves, not them cheapo bags from supermarket) for about a month or two now. What kind of tea do you drink? I have currently tried puerh and oolong. Loving both of them. Can't wait to delve deeper and try more varieties and from different count...

Re: FS: vintage Yixing etc.

Are the 3 pots you posted pictures off the only 3 you have left?

I'm hunting a bigger pot, volume 250ml and above. Era is not so important for this hunt, just the size. And that the pot is not decorated, looking for plain and smooth pot.
