The characters 朱泥 stand for zhuni. Likely the box did not originally belong to this teapot but to a different one made of zhuni. Anyways, a beautiful old yixing. Looks like a Chinese Late Qing/early ROC pot. Made for export in a rougher quality. Does not look like Japanese made Yixing(which exists) nor does it look like Japanese clay. Yixing Zisha it is.
