Re: Sheng puerh taste slightly sour-sweet ok to drink?
Thanks for your thoughts. I actually think the puerh has unlocked or opened up my taste buds! Sometimes (day after, etc) I drink something else and I get a hint of that same sour salty to sweet taste 👅 As you mentioned the cake is a general packaged tea and there’s no number or date reference to wor...

Sheng puerh taste slightly sour-sweet ok to drink?
Hi, First time trying raw early aged puerh given by my dad. It’s about 10yrs old and looks to be pure bud/top stalk cuttings. First session I used the loose leaves fallen off the cake in gongfu style brewing. It had tasted nothing I expected; it tasted more like Chinese herbal medicine than tea! I s...

Re: Tenmoku & Jian Bowls
Hi All, Can anyone recommend the best type of tea to go with these cups? People say there’s tea changing properties and I definitely agree. I was testing some high grade TGY and whilst it thickened and smoothed the tea, I lost the delicate high notes and felt more like drinking hot water! I liked ho...

Re: Tenmoku & Jian Bowls
Hi, Whilst as a newbie, I started with the classic 3x gongfu cups, I find my solo sessions are in need of a much bigger cup. I am currently fascinated with jian ware but trying to order anything from the UK is near impossible to find. To get myself started I ended up with the tourist cheap stuff fro...

Re: Yixing
Pics…I like to get one the same Thanks again 🙏 You are welcome, all of the above applies to this pot as well, so likely coloured Duanni. authentic-min-guo-luni that on the other hand doesn't mean anything, Minguo means Republic of China, which ended of course at some point, so not authentic, unless ...

Re: Chaozhou/Shantou
Made in CZ opposed to CZ pot…oh dear haha. Might as well spend the time practising my technique and learning my favourite teas before lockdown allows me to fly to HK to upgrade to more realistic looking ones together with a tea haul! Thanks for the feedback Bok, no wonder you appear to be more into ...

Re: Chaozhou/Shantou
I have noticed more in Asia markets, CZ pots are more true to the original colours of orange red. In the UK, we can only get our hands on silk finish burgundy red pots. I appreciate composition and clay sources may be different but still love how it reacts to seasoning by going brown and shiny. I’m ...
