Re: Brass kettle useable?

I am not an expert. But it should be good. Maybe for some high quality level top smth may be problems. In rest i don't think there should be any issues. But again. I am not an expert.

Re: Transporting teas when moving internationally

I moved in Europe with like 5kg of tea several times. No issues for me. There were questions, strange looks, but I did not,,hide,, my tea and they saw lots of strange looking plants( shengs and white cakes were the most strange for them) and my scale used oftentimes not for tea or jewelry :) . But i...

Re: importance of $/g ?

For wine, my working/mathematical package is a 0.75 bottle))). It is easier. I rarely buy small or magnum size. Since tea comes in different shapes and sizes my ,, universal,, measure cup is price per 100g ))) . But yes, you are right from the point of view that different teas are used in different ...

Re: importance of $/g ?

Me, as a consumer with a big excel with notes for my teas, write the price per 100g for each tea. And when I check a site I always make the mathematics in my head to get the price for 100g. It helps me categorize the tea in my own head if I consider it cheap, medium, expensive etc. Then I check the ...

Re: Req. assistance from tea experts (B/Tea: Darjeeling)!!

We forgot from what it started :) . I am not a big conoser of Darjeeling but I can tell you for sure to play with different waters. Water is very important and even more important for long steeping time. Maybe the teas are ok but the water does not open them. Good luck in your search! Thanks! I've ...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

tolean looks like a lovely set to own and study. I hope this is not too off topic, it seems three out of four famous Chinese potteries have a space in the tea world. Anyone own the mysterious fourth type of pottery? Not sure the English name, but the Chinese name is 荣昌陶 from ChongQing, China. Thank...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

No, I would say this is a quite nice version of this pot. Ones with Chinese seals tend to go for more money as special batches of clay and higher workmanship pots tend to have those seals- though I have both English and Chinese seal versions of these and other shape pots with both good and bad work...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

what you have here is the classic Begonia pot tolean - frequently found as yours was in sets with cups and a plate or also in a clay nixing caddy. I should really update that other thread with more photos... I have I think 5 or 6 of these Begonia pots at this point from different periods of product...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

And ,,these,, do you think are of decent quality? Or a low mass production not worth to try? :) These arent necessarily contradictory. E.g. much of the early period yixing is definitely "mass production" too. "Low", well it depends on your definition. For the artistic merits and artisan skill relat...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

I like how it brews my shu every morning for last 3 years. That is the key point here. Many pots that are no good for anything else work for Shu. From what I have found last years in my part of the world ( ex USSR countries) shu is much much much more popular then sheng. So maybe that is why here n...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot

Pretty unlikely anyone fakes these... so should be what it looks like : ) Thank you! And ,,these,, do you think are of decent quality? Or a low mass production not worth to try? :) I mean, for a modern teapot I would say this looks not too well made, but since I am not knowledgeable about older pot...
