Re: Yinchen Studio
Teabug, if Yann's workshop, after you submitted your review, modified the design of your pot and removed from their website the other pots that were like yours, that would seem to indicate the site is directly linked to the workshops that produce the pots. Well, to me that fact indicates a certain ...

Re: Yinchen Studio
…Yinchen Studio and Yann Gallery…Whether they are directly linked to the workshops that produce the pots is not that important. To me that is precisely the most important part of their business. Both claim to be quality oriented workshops with internet distribution. Yinchen Studio was found by Mast...

Re: Best Tea Tray Materials/Features?
I like a tea boat/ tea tray made of metal. For me the benefit is that the hot water you pour over your tea pot to keep the temperature as high as possible at the late steepings of a session - when you get to the one minute and longer steeping times - also heats the metal bowl significantly. So the t...

Re: Yinchen Studio
Yinchen seem to be working with many side channels / distributors. I find it more likely that they sell generic and mass produced pots that other vendors sell as well. Or why do they not sell under their own label/name on aliexpress? Yinchen seem to be just another bullshitter in the chinese tea bu...

Re: Mei leaf
… if a vendor--no need to name names--identifies all their teas as gushu it makes you wonder, kind of what that vendor does. Nearly all their Puerhs seem to be Gushu. All thanks to the tea master called Panda… I think their Japanese teas are above average I might order one of their matchas to...

Re: Mei leaf
...I live in Zürich and am no stranger to greatly inflated prices... Have you tried teas from Tea Mania, based in Switzerland, and if so what was your impression of them? As I see it that's one of the best sources for sheng on the internet, and it's only a matter of time until the owner gains more ...

Re: All about silver
So far, I like to brew young to medium aged shengs (I have tried shengs up to 12 years) with very clean taste in silver. So, teas without any detectable storage notes like smokiness or general funkiness.

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
I have started to stored my puerh teas in a medium sized wooden chest with four water filled open containers in it - two of which have a nice large surface area for the water to evaporate. I refill the evaporated water every week with fresh water. The relative humidity inside the chest is currently ...

Re: Mei leaf
I took a quick look at some of his videos; they're not nearly as offensive as I had assumed just from the way that he is portrayed on his website … I find his videos very entertaining and educational. He clearly understands online marketing and is quite knowlegeable. Apart from the fancy tasting no...

Re: Mei leaf
From a business perspective, Don and MeiLeaf have a significantly more complex and involved operation (a brick and mortar store in the middle of Camden in London as well as his own product lines and teaware ranges and online international presence). Which means his brick and mortar shop and their p...

Re: Mei leaf
Oh wow, the mei leaf yancha is worse than those teas from YS? One of those YS teas I ended up throwing into the garbage after two sessions, and I'm a pretty stingy guy! In the garbage? :o You could have saved it for seasoning teapots…or you could have relabelled it and sold it with the support of s...

Re: Mei leaf
I have so far sampled one Yancha from Mei Leaf - “undercover DHP” https://meileaf.com/tea/undercover-dhp/ . At that time the tea was discounted down to about $30 per 25g tea. Regular price is about $38 for 25g. So, not cheap. But for yanchas probably not overly expensive either. You can find a few y...

… or they just look similar… right  sometimes things simply do look similar. After all, we are just talking clay tea pots… 8-) like these two: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001995650392.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.0.0.ff1d54554qG8qY&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.169870...
