Re: Has the internet lost interest in British-style tea?
I think there is certainly a shift towards other-styles of tea from just British-style tea. The amount of tea produced in China is a very large amount with a vast growing region with sub-regions producing various types of tea. The next biggest is obviously India which most British-style tea is based...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Drinking some Wulongs from Floating Leaves. Charcoal Dong Ding earlier today was really good. I should have gotten more as I feel I will be craving it and drinking it more than i should. Probably the best tea I've gotten from them in this order from the ones i drank so far. Definitely order a big bo...

Re: Tea: A Nerd's Eye View

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
Drinking this Bai Ye Dan Cong black tea from YS. It is probably one of the most intense black teas i've ever had(maybe except Yan Xun Xiao Zhong). Super rich clover honey flavor. crazy smell on it as well. nice weight to the tea without being thick. has nice amount of astringency. I dunno if I like ...

Re: The most difficult tea
I'm going to have to agree with Japanese greens(primarily sencha/gyokuro) for reasons others mentioned. Hard to eyeball the weight(8g looks like 4), the leaf size, time sensitive, temperature sensitive, and I also don't have that much experience. I feel like i need to measure and time everything.......

Re: Adding powdered L-theanine to puer
I picked up some L theanine and GABA pills one day when I was getting back on coffee since it can make slightly jittery/anxious. I find it does help in that scenario. I have not really drank it with tea as I haven't needed it? Maybe if was wanting to go super heavy steeps(or maybe shu) I would try s...

Re: Always boil water?
Fully boiling helps to precipitate the dissolved bicarbonates into insoluble carbonates (they "fall out" of the solution), reducing the hardness of water. See "temporary hardness" section here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_water This is also why pre-boil TDS numbers do not always tell the s...

Re: What's the best tea for a sensitive stomach?
I do sometimes find tea giving me acid reflux specifically from young sheng. It generally happens in the afternoon if i drink young sheng soon after i eat. I find that most of my black tea tends to be slightly more tannic and brisk so that generally doesn't help either. Darker oolongs seem to be bet...
