Re: Global Tea Hut
Btw. the seed propagation claim is made i think only their "wild teas", where it is already implied by the name. I've actually visited a few farms (two in Anhui, one in Nantou) with folks from Global Tea Hut that use seed propagation in the context of more traditional agriculture. So, seed pr...

Re: Global Tea Hut
I really cannot buy into the notion that seed propagation is in any way superior to vegetative propagation. Apart from the development of a tap root, the plants are indistinguishable. There is no difference in the qualities of the leaf or in the tea they produce (given a conscientious and skilled f...

Re: Clay Kettles
I recently bought a typical 70-80 zini teapot w/ filter basket that I'm planning to use as a kettle. Anyone else use these as kettles? I'm wondering if any extra precautions needed. I'd hate to crack it first time I use it. I would be careful about using zisha over direct heat - most clays used for...

Re: Global Tea Hut
In terms of the tea quality I agree with Tertti. The teas are clean or as gth puts it "living." The tea they provide is free of pesticides and often are free of fertilizers, and are seed propegated. Seed propegated meaning that the plant is allowed to reproduce as nature intended rather than rely o...

I believe they're around 140ml, if memory serves.

Re: Global Tea Hut
Oh, I guess one more thing to mention! One reason you might not hear of Global Tea Hut as a vendor is that they're not a vendor. Their teas and teaware are sold as fundraisers with the aim of building a larger tea school in the future. The center sustains itself via the monthly subscriptions.

Re: Global Tea Hut
I too would highly recommend Global Tea Hut. I have been a member for a couple years now and can honestly say that my approach to and knowledge of tea has grown exponentially as a result. There really is no better source of tea information in the English language than the magazine (this December iss...
