Re: mud and leaves
Any plans to restock the DiCaoQing pots? I really like my 190ml shuiping, happens to be my favourite shape and size and I'm curious if you're restocking anything with that exact clay. We will be restocking some more small shuipings in dicaoqing clay (around 80ml capacity). We should receive the bat...

Re: Claims about HLS/vintage/zhuni clay in modern teapots
I purposely didn't post where I bought the pots from, but both vendors are well regarded here and you find both clay types from multiple vendors (modern zhuni pots especially, direct from China).

Re: Claims about HLS/vintage/zhuni clay in modern teapots
Sometimes the lack of reply also tells you something: no one seems to know for sure or can claim with 100% certainty :) Oh absolutely. In this case it's a positive thing haha. Nobody seems to be keen on saying it be true. Thanks for the replies, does anyone know anything more regarding this? I post...

Re: Claims about HLS/vintage/zhuni clay in modern teapots
These are the popular and reputable sellers too. What I just wrote on the other thread, also applies here: What is popular is not necessarily right. McDo is pretty popular, is it quality, healthy food? Some people are elected by the majority of their folks(at least in theory) – are they therefore g...

Re: Claims about HLS/vintage/zhuni clay in modern teapots
From what I gather, clay cost is just a small portion of the retail price of the pot. Say, a pot that retails for $120 probably used about $5 worth of clay, etc. However, you’ll still have to buy it in bulk so you need some capital for the more exotic clay. Regarding whether those clays still exist...

Claims about HLS/vintage/zhuni clay in modern teapots
I've recently paid more attention to various websites selling modern teapots and I also decided to try out their pots (not here yet as I just ordered both this week). I'm especially curious about "zhuni" and "di cao qing", more specifically DCQ clay mined from the original Huang Long Shan mines. I d...

Re: How much tea do you consume per day?
All my tea sessions are 8g sessions and I tend to do one on workdays, two on Friday, three on Saturday and one on Sunday. 8-24g a day. 24g days are kind of heavy so I've been thinking about limiting myself to two sessions a day.

Re: Duanni clay - underrated clay?
I had heard that duanni was very muting and often used for teas that requires muting. That made me think if it'd work great for traditional storage puerh and I purchased a modern duanni pot (I'm more about the performance than collectability myself) and I've had great success with it. Would like to ...

Re: Favourite vessel size for puerh?
Thanks for the replies. Even when I was first starting out I noticed how people tend to use smaller, glazed vessels for younger sheng and bigger unglazed clay pots for aged puerh. Of course it's not quite as simple as we see from the replies. The heat retention of a bigger vessel and its effects on ...

Favourite vessel size for puerh?
One of my favourite revelations (if that's what you want to call it) in the past few years regarding puerh has been vessel size. After researching different clays and pots I realized how important the size of the pot is. I've brewed puerh in quite a few different teapots and gaiwans. I admit I don't...

Puerh wrappers have QS marks which can be googled for detailed factory info
I was discussing these QS marks on Discord the other day. I don't know how many people know it but there's usually a QS mark like this on the wrapper. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/137536075265474560/401116212454490122/unknown.png Anyway, if you google that number written under it you shoul...

Re: Is white2tea the only puer producer now?
Interesting wrappers attract attention but many reviewers have been saying good things about White2Tea. Their selection is "small" or at least small enough to keep a track of it. YS makes so much puerh for their own label that even if you do a huge order from them, you'll only scratch the surface. P...

Re: Science behind letting puerh "rest" after shipment?
I noticed that every sheng I tried was much stronger/bitter if I didn't let it rest before drinking it. Older sheng usually has a stronger storage taste at first so letting it rest is essential before judging it. Shou, especially relatively young shou tends to have a stronger wodui if I don't let it...
