Re: How much tea do you consume per day?

All my tea sessions are 8g sessions and I tend to do one on workdays, two on Friday, three on Saturday and one on Sunday. 8-24g a day. 24g days are kind of heavy so I've been thinking about limiting myself to two sessions a day.

Re: Duanni clay - underrated clay?

I had heard that duanni was very muting and often used for teas that requires muting. That made me think if it'd work great for traditional storage puerh and I purchased a modern duanni pot (I'm more about the performance than collectability myself) and I've had great success with it. Would like to ...

Re: Favourite vessel size for puerh?

Thanks for the replies. Even when I was first starting out I noticed how people tend to use smaller, glazed vessels for younger sheng and bigger unglazed clay pots for aged puerh. Of course it's not quite as simple as we see from the replies. The heat retention of a bigger vessel and its effects on ...

Favourite vessel size for puerh?

One of my favourite revelations (if that's what you want to call it) in the past few years regarding puerh has been vessel size. After researching different clays and pots I realized how important the size of the pot is. I've brewed puerh in quite a few different teapots and gaiwans. I admit I don't...

Puerh wrappers have QS marks which can be googled for detailed factory info

I was discussing these QS marks on Discord the other day. I don't know how many people know it but there's usually a QS mark like this on the wrapper. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/137536075265474560/401116212454490122/unknown.png Anyway, if you google that number written under it you shoul...

Re: Is white2tea the only puer producer now?

Interesting wrappers attract attention but many reviewers have been saying good things about White2Tea. Their selection is "small" or at least small enough to keep a track of it. YS makes so much puerh for their own label that even if you do a huge order from them, you'll only scratch the surface. P...

Re: Science behind letting puerh "rest" after shipment?

I noticed that every sheng I tried was much stronger/bitter if I didn't let it rest before drinking it. Older sheng usually has a stronger storage taste at first so letting it rest is essential before judging it. Shou, especially relatively young shou tends to have a stronger wodui if I don't let it...

Re: Longjing: Sources and Brewing

I got a 50g bag from What-Cha once and I did it grandpa style mostly. Expensive but good, though I don't really have much to compare it to. I might get a bag or two from YS when I make my next order. It was also decent gong fu'd but sometimes I was craving grandpa style tea and longjing seemed like ...

Re: Silver teapots?

There is a shop in Wuyishan with a large silver teapot and kettle selection. Here is a photo of some of their larger kettles. They also have smaller teapots both yixing inspired and side handled. I asked about prices on the smaller pieces, similar to YS and CL, they seem to be generally in line. De...

Re: Silver teapots?

What are your opinions on silver teapots? I briefly considered one for puerh (mostly sheng) but I heard mixed opinions and any silver teapot would cost a lot of money. There are also silver cups but I don't know if those are a better idea or not. Do you use/own one and if you do, what do you think ...

2009 Yiwu from White2Tea. Quite young for its age but that's why I love it. It's quite sweet but you can taste that it does have some younger raw notes in there.

I'm Kupuntu and I got here from the tea Discord server. I'm also a member of /r/tea on reddit. How long have you been drinking tea? I've drank tea for a long time but I started drinking loose leaf after the Christmas of 2014 so almost three years ago. What kind of tea do you drink? I started by gett...
