Re: Yixing
So far I've been using the xiaohongni pot mostly for black teas and the zini for shu puer, although it's a bit big for me to use when drinking alone without getting caffeine jitters by the third or fourth pour. This is going to sound very overstated , but trust me I really don't mean this in a cond...

Re: Yixing
The lighting in my apartment was finally nice enough to try getting pics of my new pots, although I haven't figured out how to make well-composed photos yet. I did want a photo of the shuiping's lid to show the carvings, though. :) The pan pot is a 140 ml xiaohongni by Chen Wei, and the carved pot i...

Re: Yixing
I bought this funky UFO pot from Yinchen (my love of oddly shaped wide pots knows no bounds). It brews wonderfully and it’s one of the most fun pots I have. Lots of pots work great and have the utilitarian features you need, but this pot is just fun to use. I’m curious about the surface imperfectio...

Re: Yixing
Hello, folks! Before I say anything, a huge thank you to Youzi , who helped me find some good vendors to shop at so I didn't buy more overpriced pots (hopefully). I didn't get the chance to actually go to Dingshan before we got hit with harsh lockdowns, but I did buy a pair of pots I love online at ...

Re: Good Yixing Vendors in Wuxi?
Hello! Tentatively planning a trip to Wuxi for the New Year's, or perhaps this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for shops I can visit? Kolleh, did you go on your tea pot buying sojourn last autumn? Sorry, I'm a bit confused by your wording! I did buy some pots before locally and online,...

Re: Yixing
Kolleh not exactly the same style but related, here are some pictures of genuine antiques to maybe give you some better idea: Oh, wow, those are neat! And predictably I also quite like them, although at least this time I know in advance they aren't buyable. :) I can see what you mean, they just sor...

Re: Yixing
wave_code I'm sorry if I've offended anyone by blundering in here without putting the research in properly first. Genuinely. I should have thought more before posting. A modern pot would be fine with me, I think. I have enough of a palate that I've been able to tell the difference when someone's gi...

Re: Yixing
That would be lovely if you can! Travel restrictions are what they are right now, so I won't be going anywhere anytime soon, but I'd much appreciate the list.

Re: Yixing
Genuine as in what? They are genuine teapots that is for sure. The right one looks like an attempt of replicating an antique, but it’s modern. The one on the left I can’t see enough to guesstimate. But unless you paid a couple of hundreds it doesn’t really matter what they are… Ah, I did, actually....

Re: Yixing
The brown one looks cute. Reminds me of the old water bucket  Right? :D The lid fits a bit oddly. It seems like wasn't made with those little built-in filters that stop leaves from going up the spout, so the vendor put a little mesh thing in there that serves the same purpose. And the stamp on...

Re: Yixing
Brought this old Zisha pot with the bling bling upgrade tuning to the in-laws for the mid autumn holidays… just the right pot to deal with more people and all sorts of teas to fend off the damage of too much food. ./download/file.php?id=10110 That's gorgeous. I haven't seen many zisha pots with mod...

Re: Yixing
New friends! Bought these from a vendor who seems very sincere about his work, and has also regularly given me discounts and free teas when I visit, so I don't entirely mind if they aren't the Genuine Article. Though he seemed convinced they were. Anyways, they're adorable. The red one in particular...
