Re: Your day in tea
1994 Xiaguan cooked tuocha chunks from Yee On, thrown into a big porcelain pot at yum cha on a dark, humid, rainy day, with lots of boiling water refills. Two and a half hours later, we finally left before the tea had given up. There's only so long you can sit around drinking tea, taking up room th...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
After a week of being too busy for a proper tea session (including some days with no tea at all), I rewarded myself late on Friday with some 80s 7542 (also from Yee On Tea Co, coincidentally), and I'm still brewing it today. It is fun to drink something that can make you stare contemplatively out o...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
1983 "Square 2" 7581 cooked brick from Yee On, after another busy week. A relaxing and elegant tea; it gives me a very pleasant light, bright and airy feeling, and persistent aftertaste. It feels more heavily fermented than the 1994 Xiaguan cooked tuocha that I tried a little while ago, with a ligh...

Re: Yee On Tea Co. - 義安茶莊
Just received my order of some cakes and samples. It was a pleasant surprise to find the neifei in one of the samples. Probably I got the last bits of the cake. It's a small detail but a nice one, thanks :) I haven't tried the teas yet but they do have a promissing basement'y smell :D Glad you like...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I placed an order from YeeOnTeaCo and was gifted a sample of 2004 Yunnan Import and Export Corporation 8582 Raw Pu-erh Tea . Lot's of firsts for me! - first order with this vendor - first 'HK storage' / 'traditional storage' (forgive me if I have that incorrect, but I recall James on TeaDB saying s...

Re: Storage Failure
Our resident warehouse guru have recently written an article in regards to traditional HK storage from a commercial point of view, but he’s also included some history and some good pointers for storage of puerh tea at home.
Hope you guys can find some use with this information.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Balthazar: is this one of the two 1999 loose teas on their website, or something else? Nope, this one was bought through one of those FB auction pages. Loose teas always go for quite cheap on there, no doubt due to the fact that it's anyone's guess what they really are (and very little or no value ...

Re: How did pu'er end up in Hong Kong in the first place?
I've linked somewhere here before to a book written by the deputy chief of Yunnan Tea Import and Export Company which talks about his friendship with my grandfather (Yao Ji). Although it doesn't really talk about how pu-erh end up in HK in the first place, it does show the period when the popularity...
