Re: Young Chinese girls revive 1,200-year-old porcelain leaf cup making techniques

As a native-English speaker, I've come to accept that native-speakers are in the minority among the users of English. Non-idiomatic English is so common in the world today that IMO it is not worth dwelling on, unless it leads to genuine problems. Sorry to see that non-idiomatic English is an issue f...

Is it important that they are girls and young? I don’t think so...
If you had bothered to read the article, you would have seen that a young Chinese woman is in fact the protagonist of the story.

Re: Introduce Yourself

I'm usually buying at yutaka-tee.de and teamania.ch as well as sometimes in Japan Yutaka... never heard of it. Bookmarked for future reference, thank you! I'm particularly interested in finding good EU-based vendors because after the first of July EU import rules are scheduled to be significantly t...

Moychay.NL

Moychay's Dutch-based webstore is now up and offers a small selection of Taiwanese teas: https://togo.moychay.nl/collections . Prices seem comparable with the Russian site. This is their "digital pre-launch". The tea club in Amsterdam will open later; we are still in corona "lockdown" here in NL. So...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome neighbor to the east!

Germany may still be an "emerging market" by your measure, but there are a few very good online vendors, from whom I've bought outstanding tea. I won't list them now, I'm sure you are aware of them.

Just wondering: where do you usually buy your Japanese greens?

Re: Puerhtea.eu

to ... "january" , fingers crossed Indeed. We are in full "lockdown" here until 19 January, and that includes cafés and restaurants. I don't want to be the proverbial skunk at a picnic, but the timing to open a so-called "tea club" could not be worse. Have you never considered ordering some of thei...

Re: Puerhtea.eu

Maerskian , thanks for the explanation. Yep, that's what I was referring to: that smell of fresh tobacco, like the stuff they hand-roll cigarettes with. The first time I tasted it, I found it quite fascinating and exotic, but the novelty eventually wore off. I can't say now I crave it. Earlier this...

Re: Puerhtea.eu

This morning I brewed a sample of 2007 Tian Fu Xiang Yu Bing Wang that I obtained earlier this fall from this vendor. Like several other shengs I've tried from them, it has a certain tobacco-like aroma. Maerskian , you've tasted this vendor's cakes: is this what they refer to as "wet-storage" flavor?

Re: Puerhtea.eu

So I finally got a reply from this vendor. Apparently my earlier mails, going back to September, all ended up in his spam folder. Just like everyone, I hate spam too, but overly-aggressive spam filters break in the Internet. I really really really wish people wouldn't dial up the spam filter to 10, ...

Re: Puerhtea.eu

You've made me keen to revisit that purple Caicheng! It could well be it was not the cake but me who was having a bad day :D As for this vendor, I had a question about a previous order and mailed them again the other day -- still no response. Still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of a webstor...
