Re: Dayi 7542

Teas We Like has a 2010 version of the 7542 that I quite like - very nice aroma with good stone fruit notes.

Re: The Essence of Tea

Sometimes it helps not having the tracking number - once I have the tracking number I keep looking at it every day, even though I know it'd be at least a few weeks before it even gets to the US

Re: Teas We Like : By and for Tea Lovers

The gaiwans are back in stock!! The 2004 Bulang King was restocked as well :) I've noticed that things like the Bulang King, 2010 7542, 2008 8582, etc. have been restocked over the last few months, but how do you know if a tea's certain restock will be the last one? Also, I noticed that the Bulang ...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

Maybe putting a few plants in there would bump the humidity. My wife has a lot of houseplants, and is worried about the dry air in our house during the winter, and I told her that she can put the plants in the pumidor since it's warm and humid. She then said, "but there's no light in there..." :lol...

Re: TeaLife.HK -- Classic HK-style Teas!

I ordered on 6th June 2020 (4 months and 2 weeks ago) and it hasn't shipped yet. I emailed Jay in July (4 months ago) to find out how my order was. I was told it can take a while to ship. I'm very disappointed. Hi Tea123, and welcome to TeaForum! I'm really sorry for keeping you waiting so long. Fo...

Re: Clay Kettles

Does anyone have instructions for the congee/cornstarch method to "seal" clay kettles - I have one that sweats like crazy and would like to minimize it if I can. Thanks!

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking a sample of the White2Tea 2020 Green Hype - I don't think I've had sheng this young in almost 10 years. Very good cha qi, floral notes, lingering hui gan, and not too much bitterness. It's making me feel warm and I can feel my heartbeat accelerating. Maybe I have good tolerance, but I don't...

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

After weeks of fussing around and careful monitoring, I think I've hit upon a stable puerh aging setup I have a grow tent that's 4 ft tall and about 1.5 ft wide on each side, and inside there is a wire shelving unit with four shelves capable of holding 50 cakes or so (I am almost at capacity). To hu...

Re: Wireless Hygrometer Recommendations

Those sensor push ones are nice - I need to get three hygrometers for different areas of my pumidor. If I were just getting one I would definitely spring for the sensor push one. Do you really think that the humidity is different in differnet areas of your humidor? I suspect that differnet numbers ...

Has anyone tried any of the aged puer from Taiwan Sourcing? I posted about it on Reddit and didn't get much - they have some interesting looking stuff Do you like Taiwan stored aged raw PE?... And what kind of Taiwan stored? I actually don't have much experience with Taiwan stored raw - I have an o...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I told myself I wouldn't get into my 2002 Xiaguan tuo until they were at least 20 years old, but I couldn't resist - I haven't tried any of them since acquiring them in 2010. Unsurprisingly, with the tight compression it is still a relatively young tea, though I was able to avoid major leaf breakage...

Re: Getting back in the game

I have some good Taiwan stored stuff I just got in. A bunch is actually still fairly affordable for the age on it. A couple HK Henrys , some Changtai Bamboo Forest, T8653 and some custom 8582's HK style. Maybe we can meet half-way some day between DC and Blacksburg - maybe somewhere in Staunton? :D...

Re: Getting back in the game

What kind of pu'er do you like? Taiwanese dry-stored? Hong Kong "traditional storage"? Young sheng that is drinkable fresh? Dim sum style shou? Gong fu style shou? To me the ideal puerh is one that has a thick liquor that coats the throat and has good hui gan - I gravitate towards woodsy, dark frui...
