Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

Thought I would give a brief update as I had moved the pumidor a couple months ago. I should note first that I added one boveda pack. RH now around 65-66, up from lower 60's, and when I open the door to take tea out, put it back in within a 1/2 hour it's not dropping as quick as when I did this whe...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

@mrmopu I had one go with it, but I wasn't super impressed - wasn't the worst out of the bunch but wasn't my favorite either. I have enough to do a second round with it, so maybe the second time might reveal a little more about it Ever hear of the 2003 Bamboo Spring from them? Hobbes reviewed it a ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Going through a dozen samples of Changtai from KTM - most were duds but I'm really like the 2006 Chang Tai Hao Menghai Qiao Bing - Ji. The Bu Lang taste is very apparent, the tea liquor is thick and complex, and the cha qi is going straight to my head. I'm thinking of buying a few cakes of this - h...

Re: Terre de Ciel (TDC)

I think their HeKai was pretty good to if I recall. If you like HeKai have you had a chance to try W2T's Repave? It is one I like. It can be hit or miss with people but I am one of the hits with it.

Re: What is your favorite region/subregion for puerh and why?

I like the BuLang mountain region for the punchiness and bitter that the area brings. I also like MengSong area and especially Baotang tea. I seems to carry a thicker profile and echoes some of the BuLang area stuff. It can also carry a sweeter note as well. I like stuff that kicks back so your tas...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

2003 Changtai Bamboo Spring. 17 years old and not overly stored. Leaves the tea nice, clean brew notes of old book and sweet figs in the brew. Clean easy to drink. Just a touch of humidity has done this one well.

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?

A/C takes moisture out of the air. Check your heat pump and you will see water coming from the drain line. That is humidity removed from your air.
