Re: Yixing advice

thea_philosophia I sent you a PM. 60's Hongni seems to be a fun clay. Using it the past few days have really woken it up. I had not used it in a few months, until recently, and the clay has taken on a lovely dark amber glow. Another very noticeable color changing clay. Mysterious, intriguing, and s...

Definitely keep the antique zhuni pot and I too agreed with scarcity. Thank you for your offer, I enjoy using mid size pots more. I find 120ml to 200 ml works best for me. ;)
Cheers! Happy brewing over the weekend 😎

Re: Yixing advice

TeaTotaling Thanks for the input, your zhuni pot sounds awesome! I am still working myself towards an antique zhuni pot. I have a few modern zhuni pots and a F1 hongni to play around with when I feel like drinking some other than puerh. When the time and my wallet is ready, a 60s hongni 12 cups is ...

Re: Yixing advice

medroses maybe pedant or Victoria can help with the PM. Quality Yixing is totally attainable at reasonable prices. Good Yixing is perfect for high-end tea! The key is to get one that's not overly muting, and doesn't contain unwanted additives. Clay quality and purity are on the top of my list when ...

Re: Yixing advice

hmm that's odd. Might be that particular clay. Good zhuni usually rounds very little. medroses I brew Yancha in Zhuni, as well. I observe a smoother and thicker mouthfeel, with a more concentrated aroma and flavor. Definitely no muting, and only the slightest rounding off the top. Sounds like the c...

"You can drink tea from any kind of vessel, but why Yixing Zisha?? Arts and crafts bring spiritual enjoyment, especially when it's an art, and at the same time, it's practical to use. Otherwise, you lose your interest, and you won't want a second one."

Re: Yixing

Celebrating with this gem today, and it doesn’t get much better. Perfectly fired, top-grade Di Cao Qing Zini, aged 30 years, from Huang Long Shan #4 mine, 280ml. The versatility of this clay never ceases to amaze me. It went from a pot devoted to Aged Sheng, to All-Star status, and ohh baby does it...
