Seasoned?
Please don't tell me you cooked the pot in some leftover tea for hours....
Just one hour! And I used new tea!

But seriously—what can you tell from the pictures?

Close-ups! It’s been seasoned and used twice. Re: Yixing

Looks awesome! :D Could you take a close up of the clay? :D I’ll try to take some more shots tomorrow when there’s more light. How’s it look from these shots? Beautiful. Clay looks similar to the diamond grade that CP sells. What's the capacity of the pot? 100ml. It may or may not be same as what C...

If you have questions lmk. I don't know if others here have his pots.
Thanks! Seems you’ve had yours for a while. With use, experience, and perspective—any regrets? Do you still think you got what you paid for?

Re: Yixing

Have you searched Xu Yuefeng here on TF and on Teachat? It is mentioned several times together with pictures and some high praise from steanze it is a Xiaomeiyao "golden" zhuni pot by Xu Yuefeng (许跃峰). His modern zhuni is one of the best imo along with Jiang Xiangyu's Zhaozhuang zhuni. Also his wor...

Re: Yixing

Don’t think anyone commented earlier: what do we know about Xu Yue Feng (许跃峰)? My understanding is that he specializes in zhuni and his da hong pao is of the modern variety (selected from huanglongshan zhini ore). However, he is not certified. Hmm. No one seems to want to comment. Haha — is it real...

Re: Yixing

The original Da Hong Pao is Da Hong Ni. Which is a kind of Hong Ni from Da Shui Tan Mining area. The original ore has a red color, not yellow, so it's made of Hematite iron particles. DST got flooded at the beginning of the 20th century, and now it's a public pond, south of HLS. Modern DHP is a spe...

Re: Yixing

Let’s open another can of worms: so-called “da hong pao” clay. My understanding is that the composition if the historical da hong pao has been forgotten or lost. So what qualifies as “legitimate” da hong pao today? Zhuni that happens to fire particularly red? A manually refined version of zhuni? Or ...

Re: Yixing

mafoofan I was speaking generally, if you already got enough basic knowledge on Yixing, then by all means it’s a good idea to go for something better. I’m all in for less but better :) Especially beginners tend to buy rubbish by the dozen, when for the same overall money they could have bought some...

Re: Yixing

I would be sceptical basing trustworthiness on pictures... there is a whole culture of taking pictures with “famous or important” people in Asia to prove a given point or relationship. Can mean something, can mean nothing at all. Equivalent for tea is farmers sending images of their supposed farms,...

Re: Yixing

Is this the same pot: https://chantingpines.com/collections/teapots/products/duo-qiu-teapot-105ml-diamond-grade I think over $500 you should make a decision for your self. Especially regarding modern pots, think about what is important for you. Is it only the clay? Workmanship? Do you want a specia...
