Re: What Green Are You Drinking
debunix Nice photos! Today, I have a new Tamaryokucha from SONO Organic in my cup. The first brew was clear and surprisingly transparent, and missing nothing in terms of flavor, to my tongue. The second brew, now, is optically quite the opposite - opaque yet translucent, looks like jade in my cup. ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Just enjoying the 2016 Yunnan Sourcing "Wild Purple Green Mark", which is a mix of Raw and Ripe Pu-erh tea leaves. Very yummy to my tongue, has a nice creamy after taste, and it is long lasting (giving many infusions). But most important, it makes me feel relaxed in a nice way. Perfect evening tea, ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
A very light, green, if anything. But it was flavorful. Hello Vanenbw, thanks for sharing your first impression on a Kabusecha. Just these days I refrained from ordering a tea just because the color of the liquid appeared to be "too light" to my eyes, and I thought where should the flavor be in tha...

Re: My first sheng experience
Hello mrmopu,
that's very nice of you!
Especially, since for someone new to puerh, there's way too much opportunities to encounter bad examples, IMHO - at least here in Germany, cannot speak for stores in the USA, of course.

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic
As for Japanese tea, in general, I can recommend Sunday Natural - only available in French and German, but maybe useful to French and German speaking forum fellows: www.sunday.de www.sunday.fr What I like is the tea quality, the sortiment, as well as the information about the cultivar, origin, farmi...

Re: My first sheng experience
@thommes Just curious, did you find some good sheng?
I hope you did, and that the comments above didn't scare you away from young sheng puerh tea

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
It was at a steady 62% 70F recently (have had this storage for a year). Started smelling less pleasant, more sour. Tried a couple teas, they tasted way off, sweetness gone, more like sour and papery/musty, but unlike the typical "too-dry" sourness. I had a similar situation with two tuos that I had...

(...) he warned me to avoid letting Italian elegance creep into my work. :D Bok : I am afraid, even in Germany, less and less people would know his name. Even here in Kassel; if his "7000 Eichen" (7000 oak trees) wouldn't be simply referred to as The Beuys Trees by us locals, I guess one would hard...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
debunix That looks very delicious! The shiboridashi looks nice, as well. With 50 ml volume, it would be a delicate work, I believe. I also like to enjoy dark chocolate as o-cha-uke. Yet, not today, since I was trying a new tea: a Yanagicha from chasen.de, which is older leaf material, according to ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Hello everyone, I am new, so I feel this thread is a good starting point after the introduction. Today, I have enjoyed a Tamaryokucha, for the first time. The cultivar is Yabukita, the tea comes from Shizuoka, and the vendor gave it a taste rating of 3/5. I used two teaspoons, which is around 5 g wi...

Hello Victoria,
thank you for the warm welcome.
That must have been quite a nice summer! I hope he was not a bad teacher and you had a great time studying under his care, so that the memories are good ones. Nowadays, people's memories of Kassel seem strangely related to traffic jams on the Autobahn

Re: Introduce Yourself
How long have you been drinking tea? A couple of years ago, I tried Japanese teas. Last year, I tried Puerh tea and Oolong. That woke my interest in tea. I was eager to find more about it and was astonished how vast the tea universe actually appears to be. What kind of tea do you drink? Regularly: ...
