Re: Ode to the Kyusu

That Ryu pot was my first Kyusu. Very nice choice! I think I am a bit of an oddball though when it comes to size, my ride or die kyusu is roughly 330ml and I'm about to brew 70ml of tea in it. But it is a very comfortable pot so it doesn't feel excessive at all. Do you still have it? How many milli...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

I'd prefer ball or sasame filter type. I bought a beautiful Sakura Mt Fuji Kyusu by Gyokko but after using it for about a week, I've come to realize that it's too big for 1 person (290ml) and kinda annoying to clean. I ended up ordering an "ultra flat" kyusu by Sekiryu which should arrive sometime ...

This beautiful hohin from Yamamoto Hiromi is seeking a new home.
Time for a new profile picture, I guess...

Good luck with your sale!
If it sells, I may just have to use my ugly mug.

Thank you!

[WTS] Yamamoto Hiromi, Hokujo and Toju

All prices are shipped in the US, I will ship internationally, but the buyer covers the difference. This beautiful hohin from Yamamoto Hiromi is seeking a new home. It is a stunning piece, but I have found I really prefer something with a handle. It measures in at roughly 180ml, used only with sench...

The 290ml kyusu is a sesame filter.
I’d say you are all set then. Enjoy your bounty when it arrives!

Re: What other teaware should I get?

That is more than enough! Heck of a starter kit you got there.

Edit: The only thing I would add is to make sure one of the kyusu has a ball filter or sasame filter for fukamushi. Not 100% vital, but it makes brewing easier vs a direct wall filter.

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

My wife went with her best friend and took the kiddos through a drive through safari, one of the few kid friendly and social distancing friendly activities that is open. I am savoring this quiet time and the weather. Despite being springtime in East Texas, when I go on my evening walks I can pretend...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Unless something super drastic happens, I'm thinking it will be in the Chicago Customs Center in the next 24hrs. That seems to be the pattern, 3 days of not much progress then BOOM, Chicago. Fingers crossed! Good luck and may Hermes be with you! Surely not the time to have an empty tea cabinet! Wel...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Sounds like a lovely session. But....the last of your tea? May delivery come through soon. I probably have about 50g left. If EMS/USPS keeps up its usual pace, it should only be Wednesday or so. Hope for the best, Taiwan is already reducing or outright halting parcel shipments to most of Europe as ...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Down to the last of my tea. I have been more into sencha lately than gyokuro, so Uji Gyokuro Shōun from O-Cha is what I'm drinking until my order from Thes Du Japon gets here. Honestly the way the last few days have gone, it's been much more about the ritual and the quiet than the flavors of the tea...
