Re: Yixing

@Bok
Thanks! The crack is definitely a bummer. I’d imagine it would require at least 3-4 staples because it starts on the rim and ends just above base rim.

@Andrew S
Nice pot! The lines are very elegant on this one. Zhuni and yancha sounds like a good match.

Re: Yixing

The gamble arrived today. The pot is indeed early 60’s but unfortunately I was wrong about the crack being a scratch. Luckily it is on the back side so it’ll display nice until I get around to fixing it.

Re: Yixing

I feel like I need to counterbalance all these GIANT pots everyone is posting. Here is my latest Yixing gamble based on super blurry photos. It looks to be the smaller sized xian piao from early 60’s. You can see a very faint mark under lid which is probably 線漂 seal. It also appears to have origina...

This looks like a nice pot but it doesn’t look like F1 to me either. I vaguely remember someone else posting (here or on TC) a very similar pot from Jing which was late 90-00’s. That would be my guess for this one too.
Nevermind, Jing listed it as early 90’s so I assume this is same pot.

Re: Yixing

Bok Its a shape that spouts from F1 don’t look this beautiful Still got their place in my view, socialist brutalism in a small scale and classical elegance on the other. Both have their own charm. *shame I like both styles but a side by side comparison makes the flaws of F1 a little less charming. ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I’m enjoying another session with the 2004 XG FT 8653 3+1 from The Jade Leaf. This has become a favorite of mine for daily drinking which is why this cake is almost gone. My ROC zini pot really brings out the pine resin notes. I think this batch is worth serious consideration If someone is in the m...

I can’t afford the ones from the link haha. Maybe a F1 version if opportunity comes. :lol:
I can’t even imagine how much some of those cost.

Ah, possible! For reference the lid skirt is like this:

That is a beautiful pot. Every time I see a pot like this, I’m confused why I like factory pots so much.
