Re: Yixing
even more important โ does it make good tea!? You'll be glad to know that it does ๐ It makes water sweet which results in tea that is full-bodied and rounded. I've been using it with old/oldish sheng that still has a little bit of bitterness. My other QSN pot has a stronger sweeting affect, and I'v...

Re: Yixing
I got the pot from Daniel at The Chinese Tea Shop. It might be possible, in accordance to what you're saying, that the pot is from the 90s and not the 80s. Then again.... it's a never ending debate... between 1989 and 1990, how does one define the era accurately??? Almost impossible! We have seen e...

Re: Yixing
Is it 100% certain to nobody was producing pots between those times outside of factories? The pot is from the 80s which fits the narrative, but I'm just curious as to all the info. I consider something from the 80s as vintage, but that just might be because of my age. Yes pre 1984 there aren't "out...

Re: Yixing
I was not aware of the history of JLZ. On the other hand, my pot does indeed have silver specs, so if this is an indicator of true QSN then I'm glad. I got the pot from Daniel at The Chinese Tea Shop. It might be possible, in accordance to what you're saying, that the pot is from the 90s and not th...

Re: Yixing
Why does QSN clay have silver specs? Also, why wouldn't any JLZ be produced in between modern and antique times? What would stop a random potter or studio from making a JLZ? I am no geologist, but that is one of the features of QSN. F1 was a communist run, tightly controlled factory, in the early p...

Between 1958 and the early 1980s there weren't any random potters or studios - production of yixing teapots was monopolized b...

Re: Yixing
Hey everyone. I hope you're all having a nice day. So, I bought this vintage Ju Lun Zhu, and the spout was a little wonky. I decided to use a file to try and get it looking better. My perception is gone from working on it so much, so I can no longer judge whether it looks even/good. What do y'all t...

Re: Yixing
@pantry thanks! I looked at it again in the pictures and it does look better. Its 100mL made of Qing Shui No or Clear Water Mud. The clay is really clean and a great smooth Rocky texture. Doesn't have as much sweetening affect as my other Qing Shui Ni, but I love how it looks.

Re: Yixing
Demea a barely noticeable imperfection is in my book something to be expected from a handmade teapot and proof of the human inability to be perfect :) Only machines deliver perfect geometry. What concerns me more is the random chipping. If indeed without fault of yours that shop never ever happen, ...

Re: Yixing
Chris They offer all three common spout outlets: single, multiple, and ball filter. I think this is my favorite teapot. Its the first one I bought and I call it "The OG." Its a Zini Qin Quan that I use for Shu. It makes great tea and I consider it to be perfectly made. The lid fits impeccably, and ...

@Chris
This is an old picture, but 5 of these pots are from Yinchen Teapot. The top two and the Duan Ni Shi Piao are not from them.
