Re: Yixing
 Bok Youzi Thanks, very interesting to see how people put different meaning into the same word. I assumed a strictly utilitarian value where the "proof is in the pudding", the figurative pudding being the brew output. That's the quality element I'm most concerned with, but I can easily see ...

Re: Yixing
question for those who have Yinchen pots and have spent a bit of time with them now - how do you feel about them? Have your initial impressions changed much? also has anyone ever had anything made by them out of a purple clay? I own more pots from Yinchen Studio than I care to admit. I love them. I...

FS: Stagg EKG Electric Kettle
I'm thinking about getting a different kettle just for fun, and I can't justify keeping this one and buying a new one when this one works perfectly. I've had this EKG for about 4 months, and I have loved every second of it. I've really been wanting to try another Stagg kettle which is the only reaso...

Have these been used? How does the diamond grade compare to your antique pots?

Re: Yixing
steanze Thanks for the thoughful response. I would agree completely with what your saying. I also think that it's interesting to consider historical significance, and I agree that modern pots definitely don't fit into that category besides a few examples that aren't really known to the western publ...

Re: Yixing
This. 100%. I had a long reply, but this pretty much sums it up. I also think personal preference I think is the deciding factor. I just brought these questions up because I rarely see people question the ideas that surround zisha.

Re: Yixing
I posed this question on the Facebook Gong Fu Cha group, and I figured I should ask it here too. Has anybody ever done a comparison between old factory 1 pots and good quality modern pots (Yinchen, Global Tea Hut, Chanting Pines, Mud&Leaves)? I hear quite often that older pots are always better than...

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic
@Rmt For DanCong I would suggest One River Tea. I've had a bunch of their stuff, and it's really good. They also sell tea from laos which looks interesting.

Any specific examples? You're the first in this thread I've heard say that.karma wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 3:56 pmDaniel exaggerates, is the word I've heard.alejandro2high wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:18 pmI got the pot from Daniel at The Chinese Tea Shop. It might be possible, in accordance to what you're saying, that the pot is from the 90s and not the 80s.

WTS Early Spring 2020 Meng Ding Gan Lu Green Tea
Hello everyone. I have some early Spring 2020 Meng Ding Gan Lu, also known as sweet dew of Meng Ding, that I am wanting to get rid of. I bought it from a farmer friend in China a couple of weeks ago. The tea is refreshing and tasty; I won't get into tasting notes since I beleive most of them to be p...

Re: Yixing
The only reason I lean toward the QSN is the sweetening effect that my QSN pot has on water which results in a great tasting and full-bodied oolong. I am with you on this one! Not the same clay, but I use Duanni for my greener oolongs for the same reasons: increased body! Duanni for green oolongs? ...
