Re: What HeiCha are you drinking

I am still fu cha curious, but if the Bitterleaf Gold Dust is an indication of the kind of flavor profiles to expect overall maybe its not for me. Too much stone fruit flavor to it. I'm really not big on things like peaches. Maybe I need to find some to try that are more on the pine smoke and heavi...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking

Been drinking my second fuzhuan, Nightcap from Bitterleaf. Incredible stuff! Aroma of bing cherry and taste of bing cherry. So glad I opened this kilo brick early to see if I liked it as they had a sale going and I picked up another kilo brick. Have to see if the fungus in the tea actually has any p...

LOLOLOL..... I rather like that one. :D Or maybe I like it for the price? I'll have to go try it sometime this week.
I wonder if it would go well with roses
I'll let you know. I might use that puer to play with. Osmanthus, rose hips... try them both. Different sessions.

Re: Looking for a dull shou puer

15 Years Aged Golden Melon Ripe Pu-erh Tea Tuo from YS. Nothing offensive but also quite boring. There is some dried plum, some red bean cake sweetness...but nothing to write home about. LOLOLOL..... I rather like that one. :D Or maybe I like it for the price? I'll have to go try it sometime this w...

Re: ISO: Teas We Like (TWL) Group Buy

I would seriously consider buying an entire piece instead of breaking it up in a group buy. Reason is very simple, puerh grows with you over the years. Important is to have a trusted vendor and I am very confident Teas We Like is in the good books of many tea enthusiasts in the west. You may not li...

Looking for a dull shou puer

Yes you read the title correctly. I'm looking for a shou puer where you taste it and say, "nothing special," or less. I'm not looking for puer with bad taste, I'm sort of looking for puer with little taste? I've been drinking puer almost exclusively for a year now. It's been great. However, before p...

Re: Fucha Question

Thanks Balthazar . I'll take a look at YS. I think you suggested them when I asked for vendors for fucha a few months back. I'm really happy with the quantity of Eurotium Cristatum growing in this fucha, but then this is the first fucha that I've had. From the videos I've watched though it has more ...

Fucha Question

Drinking my first Fucha. Primarily a shou puer drinker with some sheng. The only other heicha that I've had is a Liu Bao. So the puer and the Liu Bao I can get a LOT of steeps out of. The Liu Bao, I've actually gotten rid of the leaves after drinking it for a day but they would have kept on going. H...

Re: Fu cha recommendations?

I don't FB or IG due to having issues with a certain CEO so I miss out on a lot of offers. I went with Bitterleaf Tea and bought the two fuchas they offered. I waited a while for the 1kilo brick to become available. The order arrived today and I broke into the Gold Dust as it was sections of a broke...

I have had good experience with the CNNP 7581 from YS. It’s currently out of stock in their US shop. Their golden melon was also a good budget ripe
I haven't tried the 7581 from YS as I don't buy a lot of factory teas, but I agree that the golden melon was a good decent shou for the price.

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking

Gotcha, if it's your first pot I think anything not-too-muting should be a safe choice. Others may have more useful/specific suggestions, though. Bold move to start your fuzhuan journey with a 1 kilo brick ;) Thank you thank you very much. However, if it makes you feel better, I also got 250g of an...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking

I bought a kilo brick of fuzhuan today. I need a pot for it. Anyone have a suggestion? Fuzhuan taste profiles can vary quite a lot beyond the (usually very mild) "菌香" provided by the jinhua. So anything from dates/raisins to more malty flavors, to minerality, to the "damp forest earth and berries" ...
