Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
"life's too short to be restricted to too little leaf", so i just go along with taste, satisfaction & tolerance levels. That's the essence really. My exact same thinking Sometimes feel quite the paradox to pay attention to so many factors that could be affecting our tea to the point that - from an ...

extremely compressed These two words certainly carry more weight than usual O__O . Works for a nice textbook representation of it. I read this, then saw the picture.. you aren't joking. Definitely i am not ^__^ . For a moment makes you think of those thick 100% cacao choco bars on non standard XLL ...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
Maerskian but I get my teas probably a lot cheaper, closer to the source and all… Fully aware of it. Arguably that's one of the first realities the vast majority of western drinkers usually need to deal with, accept, move on & develop some kind of inner rules regarding purchasing practices, prices,...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
closer/around 200ml capable of holding 18-20gr leaf , wide shape if possible so the leaf can expand. 200ml and more width will matter little in helping the leaves to expand, it's large enough for any sized leaves. Hmmm... not entirely sure. Some of those ever-tricky dragon balls can surprise you wi...

Maerskian not sure if this is still available but the second one is under 100: https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1799 A private parcel if not send via DHL or similar might slip under the radar... Thanks. LeoFox already pointed me to that thread however ... for starters i'm looking for s...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
Apparently this conversation is widening enough that's becoming hard to read, sorry for that. Why would you need to buy several? If you're thinking of dedicating each pot to a single type of tea, I don't see any reason to do so with nixing (and personally I think the benefits of doing so for other k...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
It is Nixing clay. They only do Nixing. It does well with Puerh and Heicha and especially Shou. I feel like it can do Oolong as well but I'm still experimenting Thank you! Looks like i'll need to buy quite a few then, initially only planned to try with sheng but in the end... no time like yesterday...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
yes its a great and beautiful pot for the price. What kind of clay it is & what kind of tea you brew with it ? , what would you describe as the positive impact on it ? it is not going to be neutral. but if you want neutral i would use a gaiwan Fully aware of it. As i mentioned earlier already own 5...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
You could get a Boerna Nixing. Those are quite cheap and come in bigger sizes. They are on Aliexpress that's why VAT is included. Yes, Youzi already mentioned that store earlier although the more opinions the better! Have you bought from there ? if so, what's your experience with what you got so fa...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
While i know some ( few ) sellers on Aliexpress are reliable, also aware there's tons of 'em selling the dodgy kind. Didn't know of any reliable teaware seller over there, is Boerna well known then ? anybody else bought there ? Quite a few people got teapots from them over at the /tea discord. I be...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
Maerskian Yeah, you see the problem is that you want to try clay, because you want to see what it does, however at that price point shipped from Europe you don't have retail options, just second hand. Yes, that's exactly what i was expecting. Checked a few dozen options over here but none of 'em se...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
Maerskian: I think that the proposed budget and the desire to get something from within the EU mean that your Yixing options are quite limited (unless you get lucky in an auction or an antique shop). Indeed. In fact i was expecting to confirm my realistic options are zero. Additionally, and with ap...

Re: How does it look ? ( CNNP/Xiaguan from 2001-2? )
Shame... was under the impression it could have been a nice one, everything else but the cardboard taste felt nice enough. It's always sad when an otherwise nice tea has only one, but a very prominent, defect. As for whether or not you could get rid of the cardboard taste, I'm not sure but I wouldn...

Re: Yixing / Clay pot purchase advice within EU
Maybe some options here? (US, but prices are dirt cheap) https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1799 https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1963 https://www.teaforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2284 Hmmm... afraid none of those would work :/ . On one hand overseas shipping nowadays is hi...
